Laval

The creation of Laval was the result of the merging of 14 municipalities to form one big and modern city. The city is now celebrating its 40th anniversary and it has much to be proud of. This vibrant city is alive with cultural, environmental, and recreational activities for all to enjoy. In many respects, Laval is able to maintain a small-town feel while also offering all the amenities of a cosmopolitan city!

A City of Parks
Laval is well-known as an urban setting complemented by the large number of peaceful parks. Residents each have their favorite, but one of the most popular parks is the Centre de la Nature. This park is the site of a sculpture garden and the Village des arts. Visitors to the park will often stroll through the gardens and then pay a visit to the quaint little buildings in the Village des Arts that house eight exhibitions and offer creative workshops for children. The village also houses an outdoor theatre for a variety of musical song and dance performances.

The city of Laval values education and this pride shows in the quality of schools in the area. The city is home to a number of French and English elementary and high schools as well as two universities, one Cegep and one professional training institution.
